Rahm Kota was a human male Jedi Master who survived the Great Jedi Purge and became a prominent figure in the early Rebel Alliance. Unlike many Jedi, Kota eschewed the clone army during the Clone Wars, relying instead on his own well-trained militia, a strategy that inadvertently shielded him from Order 66.

Bitter and distrustful of the Republic following the Purge, Kota operated independently, focusing on disrupting Imperial activities. He held a strong anti-droid prejudice, reflecting his wartime experiences. This prejudice, however, was eventually overcome.

Kota played a crucial role in the training of Galen Marek, Darth Vader's secret apprentice, later known as Starkiller. He initially intended to use Starkiller to assassinate Emperor Palpatine, but ultimately recognized the inherent good within the young man. Kota's influence helped Starkiller embrace the Light Side of the Force.

He was blinded by Darth Vader during the attempted assassination of the Emperor. Despite his blindness, Kota remained a valuable strategist and advisor to the burgeoning Rebel Alliance, continuing to serve as a symbol of hope and resistance against the Galactic Empire.
